Psycho-Educational Evaluation
Full Psycho-Educational Evaluation: This is a comprehensive evaluation, assessing most major areas of cognitive and academic ability. Results from this evaluation will aid in detecting a wide variety of disabilities and classifications. Evaluations are tailored to fit the needs and cognitive/academic profile of each student evaluated. This evaluation is for anyone ages 4 years and older. (This type of evaluation is most commonly used by school teams to determine eligibility for services in the school setting.)
Areas typically assessed:
1. IQ and Cognitive - will provide information regarding various cognitive strengths and weaknesses. This information is useful so that instruction can be presented in a way that best matches the individual's cognitive strengths, leading to better retention of information.
2. Academic Achievement - will provide highly detailed information about reading, writing, and mathematical skills. Additionally, an age and grade equivalency will be obtained to determine exactly where your student is performing in relation to their peers.
3. Social/Emotional/Behavior - will provide information regarding Internalizing Problems (Anxiety, Depression), Externalizing Problems (Hyperactivity, Aggression, Conduct Problems), and Behavior (Attention Problems, Withdrawal). ADHD and Adaptive Behavior will also be assessed.
4. Informal Play-Based Assessment, Child Interview, Self-Report (if appropriate)
IF NEEDED, based on interview, observations, and evaluation data (additional fee will apply)
5. Adaptive Behavior - will provide information regarding Communication, Daily Living, and Socialization Skills (required by the school team in order to qualify for certain classifications).
6. ADHD Testing - will provide formal assessment results regarding the presence and severity of ADHD, with a strong focus on attention skills.
